Although no longer in business, Jefferson Yachts was founded in 1982 by Leon Shaw, manufacturing quality trawlers, motor yachts, and eventually a line of center console boats. Throughout its lifetime, Jefferson Yachts manufactured over 500 vessels within four model ranges including Marquessa, Rivanna, Pilothouse, and Starship. While uniquely different, each yacht series depicted reliability, comfortability, and style, catapulting the brand as an industry leader of its time.
Types of Jefferson Yachts
Jefferson Yachts specialized in models ranging from 37 feet to 60 feet, with the 52’ Marquessa being the most popular model. With a downturn in the US economy back in the early 2000s, Jefferson Yachts was forced to declare bankruptcy in 2012. However, its latest venture, the Marlago center console series, is still in production.
